Getting Started
Parents/Learning Coaches (LC) have their own K12 account to monitor grades and progress, access student courses to help review assignments, and so much more. Some Learning Coaches choose to log in & monitor their student's progress daily - we recommend no less than once a week. Your student's advisor can help you form a plan. Time requirements
Depending on the student's grade and needs, LCs should plan to spend the following amount of time on school-related tasks each school day:
- Grades K-5: 3 to 6 hours a day
- Grades 6-8: 2 to 4 hours a day
- High school: 1 to 2 hours a day
LCs also:
- Verify student progress
- Monitor activity
- Inspect student’s grades and assignment due dates
- Ensure student participation in direct instruction and state testing
- Communicate with teachers and staff
- Ensure internet connectivity and provide student(s) with assistance, encouragement, and motivation.

Navigating your Learning Coach Account
Learning Coaches have the ability to look at their student's day/week schedule of assignments and class connects as well as look at their student's current grade, number of missing assignments, and last time the coursework had been accessed.

Understanding what your student sees
One of the best ways you can help support your student is learning their point of view of their schedule, class connects, coursework and overall k12 system. We know this is a lot to learn, so please give yourself time to catch on!
